Ben Saunders
I'm often described as a polar explorer, for want of a better term, but I like to think of myself as an explorer of human limits rather than geographical limits. I've spent the last 17 years leading expeditions to the ends of the earth - to the North Pole in the high Arctic and the South Pole in the Antarctic. I skied solo to the North Pole in 2004 and in 2017 I became the third person in history to have skied solo to both poles when I reached the South Pole after 52 days alone on the Antarctic continent. My proudest achievement, though, is leading The Scott Expedition - the longest human-powered polar journey in history, a 105-day, 1,800-mile round trip from Ross Island on the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole and back again. I led the first completion of the expedition, finishing the journey that defeated Captain Scott and Sir Ernest Shackleton.
I've been using Grangers products since I was 11 years old. The smell and texture of G-wax as I treat my walking boots still brings back happy memories of my earliest hikes on Dartmoor and in Snowdonia as a Scout. Nowadays, my go-to product is Active Wash. I train six days a week, I've invested a lot in technical walking, running and cycling gear and it's the best way of making sure they continue to perform when I'm in the great outdoors.
